Apollo 11-plus mission

One small step for mankind, one giant leap for Phil Cotter (I think) and Paddy McDermott as they crash land behind the Civic Centre at the end of their Apollo 11-plus mission, watched by Steve Day (?), Chris Watts, Kim Bascott, Brian Bagwell, Graham Agnew (?). Mr (Mission Control) Phillips welcomes them back to earth. The space capsule was on loan as part of the Mayflower 70 celebrations. The school took part in a dancing display on the Hoe. Does anybody remember (or admit to) being part of that? The costumes were plastic laundry bags; pink for the girls, blue for the boys, and everybody skipped around waving cheerleaders pompoms made from (you guessed it) plastic laundry bags. Every expense spared. Somebody must have some photos of that somewhere.

Here's a photo of John Mildon and myself taken in about 1971(I'm sure John won't thank me for putting it on here!).

Other friends I remember at Knowle Primary at the time included Mark and Paul Copleston, Billy and Brian Wilkinson, David Pascoe,Colin Preston,Kenneth Walker and Nigel Piper.I don't know what happened to most of them though unfortunately, I believe, Colin died in 1987.
