Thomas Noble's greengrocer shop at Wynyard Street,New Silksworth in 1910. Shown in the picture are Margaret Noble, Hannah Noble and their father, Thomas Noble. Thomas and his wife, Elizabeth, had ten children including John, Robert (Bob), William (Willie), Mary Annie (Nan), Elizabeth (Bette), Margaret (Meggie), Richard (Dick), Annie, Hannah and Tom.
Thomas Noble was born in 1874 at Allendale and died in April 1948.
William Noble and his mother, Elizabeth 1915. William was in the Yorkshire Regiment during the First World War and was killed on the first day of the Battle of the Somme on the 1st July 1916.
