Old photos of Plymouth Zoo
Thanks to the Marshall family for the folowing photos.
Bill Marshall started on the zoo site as a builder and helped to build the zoo. When it was finished, he was asked to stay on as an odd job man and help when and where needed. In time he moved onto the keepers roll and then he worked up to looking after the big cats before becoming the Head Keeper.

Here's a photo of two pumas. The one in the foreground had only a stump for a
tail, it was cut off when it was being let into it's sleeping den and the trap
door fell and chopped it off!
