Driving across Europe

.

.

We spent Saturday scanning the papers, magazines and the internet for a left hand drive four by four. Despite several phone calls and leads, we came up with nothing.

.

Things were not looking good until our friends suggested we buy the four by four in Germany.

.

For one thing all the cars were left hand drive, and for another cars were cheaper in Germany.

.

This seemed like a good plan so we arranged for Andrew (my son ) to fly to Munich a week Monday 20/6/05 and we would drive the Barchetta and meet him at the Munich airport.

.

We spent the rest of the weekend with our friends, and on Monday we drove down to see family and spend some time with them.

.

By Thursday we were ready to start our journey.

.

We left Wales at around four in the afternoon. We had bits and pieces to do before we left the country.

.

One of the things we had to do was collect our visas from the Bulgarian embassy.

.

I had spoken to them the day before and they said that they were ready for collection.

.

They Embassy is only open in the mornings from 9am to 11am so that took care of Friday morning.

.

Thursday evening and we were in London. We booked a room for the night and travelled to the embassy the following morning.

.

We posted Andrew’s passport back to him by special delivery so that he would have it to fly to Munich on the Monday.

.

Then we drove to Dover and booked into a lodge room two minutes away from the ferry.
