.There used to be a dual pricing policy in Hotels. .
.Now I say used to be because in the vast majority of Hotels the dual pricing
.
has stopped, but it does still happen here and there.
.
.It's a good sign that Bulgaria is improving.
.
.Surprisingly, some of the better known Hotels in Bulgaria
.used to have a dual
pricing policy.
.
.Here's how it works: .
.There are 2 rates - 1 rate for the local population and 1 rate for foreigners. .
.The rate can sometimes be more than twice as much.
.
.You must be sure that you are comparing like with like however,
.as some Hotels
have some vary basic rooms, that they rent
.to the locals for a nominal rent.
.
.Some restaurants adopted a dual pricing policy too.
.
.I have seen examples where the Restaurant has 2 menus.
. .One menu is written in Bulgarian with cheaper prices than
.the same
menu written in English.
.
.Again, you must make sure you are comparing like for like.
. .I once came across a
Restaurant that at first glance of the menu
.appeared to have a dual pricing policy.
.
.On closer inspection of the menu the English menu was found
.to have larger
portion sizes.
. .I was curious so I asked the manager why, he replied:
. .
."It is because I know English people are hungrier than Bulgarians". .
